Kein geringer als Bastian Sick, Autor der „Zwiebelfisch“-Kolumne und der Erfolgsbuchreihe „Der Dativ ist dem Genitiv sein Tod“, hat die Fragen und Lösungen erdacht, die ebenso viel Wissenswertes enthalten wie Überraschendes, Erstaunliches und Lustiges.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Schweizer Software-Entwickler Swift ist ein Quiz entstanden, das sich auch durch seine ansprechende Gestaltung und eine reiche Bebilderung auszeichnet. Denn wie heißt es so schön? Das Auge quizzt mit!
Der abwechslungsreiche Fragenkatalog wird aus sieben Wissensgebieten gespeist: Rechtschreibung, Fremdwörter, Wortbildung, Zeichensetzung, Wortwahl, Redewendungen und Sprachgeschichte.
Als Erstes lernt man, wie der Plural von „Modus“ heißt, denn bei „Dativ, Genitiv & Co.“ hat man die Wahl zwischen verschiedenen Spielmodi: Der Modus „Querbeet“ – ideal für Einsteiger – hält einen bunten Strauß aus 12 oder 24 Fragen aus allen sieben Wissensgebieten bereit. Im Modus „So weit die Füße tragen“ ist nach der ersten falschen Antwort Schluss, was mal nach der hundertsten, mal auch schon nach der ersten Frage sein kann. Im Modus „Hase und Igel“ spielt man gegen die Uhr und versucht, in 2 oder 4 Minuten so viele Punkte wie möglich zu sammeln. Im Bedarfsfall helfen Joker bei der Lösung oder verdoppeln die Punkte. Die Königsdisziplin ist der „Gipfelstürmer“: Hier erkämpft man sich Runde um Runde einen höheren Bildungsgrad und steigt vom Vorschüler auf bis zur Grauen Eminenz.
Wenn Sie sich immer schon gefragt haben, was hinter der Redewendung „einen Korb bekommen“ steckt oder nach wem die „treulosen Tomaten“ benannt sind – hier werden Sie’s erfahren. Und falls Sie bereits wissen, was die Wörter „unverwandt“, „Bobo“ und „wirsch“ bedeuten und wo „Hokuspokus“ herkommt, dann können Sie reichlich Punkte sammeln.
Am Ende jeder Runde gibt es ein Zertifikat, das man – je nach Ergebnis – mailen, posten oder besser für sich behalten kann. Anstelle von Noten gibt es Kommentare wie „Bravo! Das war ausgezeichnet!“ oder „Damit haben Sie sich fürs Dschungelcamp qualifiziert.“
Ein großer Spaß – nicht nur für Neunmalkluge. Auch Achtmalschlaue und Siebenmalgescheite werden auf ihre Kosten kommen. Es geht schließlich nicht darum, schon alles zu wissen, sondern auf unterhaltsame Weise Neues und Interessantes hinzuzulernen. An der ersten Erweiterung mit zusätzlichen Modi und weiteren Fragen wird bereits gearbeitet.
