Kur’ân (Arapça: القرآن / el-kur'ân) veya Kur’ân-ı Kerîm (Arapça: القرآن الكريم / el-kur'ân el-kerim), İslâm i'tikadına göre âyetleri vahiyler şeklinde "Allah" tarafından Cebrail adındaki melek aracılığıyla İslâm dini peygâmberi Muhammed'e indirilen İslâm dininin kutsal kitâbıdır.
Müslümanlar, Muhammed'in en önemli mucizesi olarak Kur’ân'ı görürler ve onun gerçek bir peygamber olduğunun kanıtı olduğuna inanırlar. İslâm i'tikadına göre ilk insan ve ilk peygamber Adem ile başlayan ilâhî mesajlar, Kur’ân'ın Muhammed'e indirilmesi ile sona ermiştir.
Kur’ân Müslümanlarca insanlara yol gösterici ilâhi bir kitap olarak tanımlanmaktadır.Ayrıca şeriat Muhammed'in hadisleri ile birlikte Kur’ân ayetleriyle yorumlanır. Kur’ân, İncil ve Tevrat'ı Allah tarafından insanlara gönderilen kutsal kitaplar olarak tanımlamakla birlikte fakat sonradan bu kitapların insanlar tarafından bozulup tahrif edildiğini ancak Kur’ân'ın kıyamete kadar "Allah" tarafından korunacağına ve yeryüzüne indirilmiş olan son kutsal kitap olduğuna inanılır.
Tarihçe
İslâma göre Kur'ân-ı Kerim İslam peygamberi Muhammed'e 610 yılının Ramazan ayının Kadir Gecesi'nde Mekke'deki Nur Dağı Hira Mağarası'nda indirilmeye başlanılmış, vahyin 12 yılı Mekke, 11 yılı da Medine dönemi olmak üzere 23 yıl sürmüştür. Kur'an, Muhammed hayattayken Vahiy katipleri tarafından yazıya geçirilmiştir.
Mekke döneminde vahyedilen ayetler tevhid konuları başta olmak üzere İslâm'ın inanç esasları, ölüm, hayat, kıyamet, âhiret, cennet, cehennem, ve kavimlerin helâkı gibi konuları ele alır. Medine döneminde vahyedilen âyetlerde ise ibâdetler, insanlar arası ilişkiler, toplumsal düzenlemeler, ahlakî kurallar ile ilgili şer’i âyetler vahyedilmiştir. Mekke’de vahyedilenler "Mekkî", Medine'de vahyedilenler ise "Medenî" olarak adlandırılmıştır.
lk halife Ebubekir (632-634) zamanında bir araya getirilen Kur’ân nüshaları, Osman bin Affan döneminde çoğaltılarak önemli merkezlere gönderilmiştir. Kur’ân ayrıca Furkân-ı Hâkim, Mushâf-ı Şerif, Kelâmullah, Kitâbullah gibi isimlerle de anılır. Uzatma, nokta, hareke gibi işaretlerin yer almadığı bu yazıma daha sonraları ilâve edilen işaretlemelerle
okuyuş şekli (tecvid); yazılı olarak belirlenerek bu şekilde nesilden nesile aktarılmıştır.
Kur’ân-ı Kerîm'in yapısı
Kur’ân-ı Kerîm 114 bölümden (sure) oluşur. Sureler genellikle içerdiği konulardan birine verilen Arapça isimlerle anılırlar. Sureler kronolojik bir sırada düzenlenmemiştir.
Kur’ân-ı Kerîm "sûre" adı verilen bölümlerden oluşur. Kur’ân'da 86’sı Mekki, 28'i Medeni olmak üzere 114 sure bulunur. Medeni sureler Bakara, Ali İmran, Enfal, Ahzab, Maide, Mümtahine, Nisa, Zilzal, Hadid, Muhammed, Rad, Rahman, Dehr, Talak, Beyyine, Haşr, Nasr, Nur, Hac, Münafikun, Mücadele, Hucurat, Tahrim, Cuma, Tegabun, Saf, Feth ve Berae'dir. Her bir sure “âyet” adı verilen bölümlerden oluşur. Âyetlerin uzunluğu bir kelime ile bir sayfa arasında değişir. Kur’ân-ı Kerîm'i oluşturan 30 eşit parçadan her birine cüz denir.
Kur’ân'ın yazımında noktalama işaretleri bulunmadığı için bazı ayetlerin nereden başlayıp nerede bittiği gibi konular kesin değildir. Bazı âlimler, bir kısım uzun cümleleri iki-üç ayet saymışken, bazısı tek ayet kabul etmiştir. Yine Şafiî âlimleri besmeleyi başında zikredilen sure ile bir bütün olarak saydıkları halde, Hanefi âlimleri besmeleyi ayrı bir ayet olarak saymışlardır. Sure başlarındaki “Yasin, Ha mim” gibi "Hurûf-u Mûkattâ'at" için de benzer durum geçerlidir. Buna göre, Kur’ân-ı Kerîm, surelerin başındaki besmeleleri ayrı bir ayet saymama kaydı ile 6236 ayetten oluşur. Âyetlerin sayısını İbn-i Abbas 6616, Nafi 6217, Şeybe 6214, Mısır âlimleri 6226 olarak ifade etmişlerdir. Said Nursi, Zemahşeri gibi bazı alimler ise muhtemelen halka kolay gelsin diye rakamları yuvarlayıp 6666 rakamını vermişlerdir
